Well it's sorta a vacation. If we don't have to work and we are getting away for a weekend, it's a vacation to for this crazy bunch! :)
Thanks to the folks at a local radio station we are going to see my mother-in-law and her husband who is currently undergoing chemo treatments. We are all so very excited and feel so blessed to be able to go for the weekend. My sister-in-law and her family will be there as well. The kids think it's great that we get to stay in a hotel with an indoor pool.
Today I had to take Alexis to get her hair cut due to an incident involving her brother and scissors (AGAIN). She was telling the hair dresser all about it. It was so cute. Both kids have been counting down the days.
We are just about packed. Snacks all organized in a basket. Car entertainment is set and charged. I think this family is ready to go. We are going to enjoy the time we have with one another and spend time with loved ones. It's especially important because we just don't know how much time we have left with each other.
Have a blessed weekend!!

New Year's Confession
Ok, so I have a little confession to make. I did nothing all day. No shower. No meals. No nothing! And it felt GREAT! Well I did venture out for coffee and donuts, but got right back in my pjs and stayed in my bedroom. I think it's the first time in a while I felt relaxed.
We stayed in our pjs all day. Watched TV. Ate donuts for breakfast. Watched more TV and slept (well Daddy and Mommy slept). Ate donuts and chex mix for lunch. Watched more TV and cuddled. Then I did do some laundry and ordered pizza. Then guess what we did. Watched a movie! Now we are having a sleepover!
Now normally we do not watch a lot of TV. Actually the only TV we own is in our bedroom and we do not have cable. So the kids were quite happy to stay in our room and watch endless 80's cartoons off Netflix all day :)
But we are almost back to reality. One more day of vacation then we start school again. Tomorrow it will be about lesson planning and catching up on chores. But I choose not to dwell on that and remember the good feelings today brought. So my New Years "Resolution" is to have more days of saying yes and doing nothing,
Happy New Year everyone!!
